Son Julia, an exquisite 15th century mansion

Gran Hotel Son Julia is a lovingly restored 15th-century Mallorcan mansion, perfectly placed overlooking the lush swaths of the island's countryside. Opened in 2006 it offers fine gourmet cuisine, spa and wellness therapies and cosseting accommodation with subtle, oriental accents amid a peaceful, 150,000 sq metre estate with landscaped vistas and delicate perfumed gardens.

Cuisine is courtesy of the gourmet Son Julia Restaurant under the expert eye of head chef Jordi Calvache, with a second restaurant for those wishing to dine poolside. The romantic atmosphere of the hotel lends itself ideally to weddings and events, and is wonderful for honeymoons.

Art forms an integral part of the estate's character. Paintings by Miquel Mesquida Sansó decorate the hallways as part of a permanent exhibition, also available for purchase. Public areas have been expertly decorated with intricate handcrafted lamps by the noted Mallorcan artist Gordiola. Room furnishings, particularly rugs, are often handmade oriental pieces.
